AKSCG coffees originate in the country’s highland regions around Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, and in the Mount Livingstone Ranges in the south west, near Lake Nyasa.

The Association currently represents 62 farmer-businesses, each committed to producing high-quality coffee for the specialty market. Around 6,000 farmers sell their coffee through the Association, which consistently wins high prices for its members. In the 2002/3 season, Southern Highlands members sold coffee at prices on average 66% higher than non-members in the region, while northern groups’ prices were on average 40% higher.
