Vivian Hoffmann is a Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute, and is currently based in Nairobi, Kenya, and an Associate Editor for the American Journal of Agricultural Economics. Her current research largely deals with how information, markets and institutions affect the adoption of agricultural technologies. Prior to joining IFPRI in 2013, Hoffmann was an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland. She received her PhD in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University. Hoffmann has taught development economics at the undergraduate and graduate level and presented her research at dozens of academic seminars and policy-oriented conferences.
