About the Origin Retreat
This program will give Barista’s and Roasters a fundamental appreciation and learning of the production and pre/post-harvest process at a specialty coffee estate in Kenya. Participants will be enjoined in harvesting as well supporting the local coffee community. In sharing this experience, they understand coffee production. It will also allow them to network with fellow roasters & barista’s, building lifelong business and information sharing networks.
Please note that the work will be very physical.
Day 1 – Check in and Arrival at Green Hills Hotel – Nyeri Town
Day 2 – Meet & Greet, Introduction to Basic Agronomy and Coffee Nurseries
Day 3 – Coffee Picking and Sorting Competition
Day 4 – Volunteer work for the local coffee community
Day 5 – Check out of the Green Hills Hotel – Nyeri Town, Visit to the Abedares Forest & Departure to Nairobi.
