AFCA are turning the only regional cupping competition, Taste of Harvest, into an online auction. Coffee buyers, from all over the globe, are able to bid on the region’s best coffee in transparent online auctions.
AFCA hosted the first auction for a selection of mini-micro lots from Malawi and Zambia. The second auction will see some of the best coffee from Tanzania sold in the first ever online specialty auction from the country.
Tanzania is home Mt. Kilimanjaro, the best wildlife in the world and some of the most undervalued coffee in the region. Much of Tanzania’s great coffee is lost to blends. This competition gives Tanzanian sellers the confidence to stand up and be proud of their coffee.
A cupping training and a competition will take place in Moshi between 14th -18th November. Coffee is scored by two international and eight local judges. The results of the competition will be published on the 18th November on the Bean Auction’s website. Buyers can bid on Taste of Harvest winners between the 25-30th November.
AFCA’s invite all interested buyers register for a buyer account.
