Mt Elgon Agroforestry Communities Coop Ent Ltd
Mt Elgon Agroforestry Communities Cooperative Enterprise Ltd (MEACCE) is a Fairtrade and Organic-certified small producer organization based in Mbale, Uganda. Established in 2017, MEACCE is owned by 14 primary cooperatives representing 3,832 smallholder farmers growing high-quality Arabica and Robusta coffee in the Mt Elgon and Busoga sub-regions.

Specializing in fully washed Arabica and natural Robusta, MEACCE’s coffee is cultivated under agroforestry systems at altitudes ranging from 1,200 to 2,100 meters, using sustainable and traditional farming practices.

MEACCE reinvests coffee premiums into community development, gender equality, climate change adaptation, and youth empowerment through its “Elgon Mothers” and “Next Gen” coffee brands.
Currently, MEACCE exports 15 containers of coffee per year on average to Europe and the USA.
Committed to quality, traceability, and environmental stewardship, MEACCE supports farmer training, climate-smart agriculture, and tree-planting initiatives. With certifications including Fairtrade, Organic, and Rainforest Alliance, MEACCE ensures both quality coffee and impactful trade.
