Sustainable Growers is an NGO specializing in innovative coffee cultivation techniques for smallholder women coffee farmers across Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Tanzania. Our focus is on providing groundbreaking training, increasing the visibility of women farmers at the coffee supply chain leadership level. Since our inception, Bloomberg Philanthropies’ support, alongside strong government partnerships, has driven lasting impact, improving the lives of 56,172 women farmers and 235,132 family members.

Our social enterprise, Question Coffee, highlights coffee grown by women, creating demand while educating consumers about the farmers behind every cup. By increasing regional coffee consumption, Question Coffee strengthens local markets while showcasing the quality of specialty coffee. Served in major hotels, restaurants, and national parks, Question Coffee reinvests its revenues into training programs.

The Question Coffee Academy offers internationally certified barista training, creating valuable job opportunities for youth. Recognized globally, our work was featured at Dubai Expo 2020 as a Best Practices project.
