CAPACO SARL
CAPACO as a private initiative was founded in Beni in 1963 by Mr. Victor Ngezayo. In 1983 CAPACO SPRL became a registered company with Victor Ngezayo as the Main Associate and Managing Director, creating thousands of jobs across the Democratic Republic of the Congo, DRC.
A pioneer company in the country’s history, in 1977-1978, CAPACO exported 10.186.800 kgs of coffee and was the most important exporter, in the classification of the country’s National Coffee Office, today renamed the National Agricultural Products Office “ONAPAC”.
Victor Ngezayo was awarded the Second Prize of the Best Economic Operator in Industrial Initiatives by the Executive Council of the Second Republic (Zaïre) in 1985.
CAPACO, to complement its own plantations and coffee treatment infrastructure, is the main shareholder of the DOMAINE DE KATALE S.A. which is situated in very fertile volcanic soil with a lot of fresh water, at around 1,230 meters in altitude, owns many Arabica coffee plantations, washing stations, a dry mill, a hydroelectric central station, technical shop and warehouses.
The company is investing in an important replanting program, creating jobs with a focus on women and youth, contributing to stabilizing the local population and improving livelihoods in rural areas.
