Who we are
Dukundekawa was established in 2000, by 300 coffee farmers and covers an area of 392 ha.
After 11 years of operation, Dukundekawa has 1937 coffee farmer members. It is owned by democratically organized coffee farmers from 3 areas of Gakenke District in the Northern Province of Rwanda.
Dukundekawa owns a dry mill, 3 wet mills (Ruli, Mbilima and Nkara)
We aim at maintaining quality from the farm to the cup.
Our coffee
The coffee produced by Dukundekawa is exceptionally lively with subtle, flora tones that lead into fruit notes of grapefruit and stewed apples and in the finish there’s hint of vanilla and cinnamon.
The coffee of Dukundekawa was awarded as winner of cup of excellence in Rwanda in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 .
Our coffee is grown at an altitude 1800-2200 meters above sea level.
